PARGAS RETRO PARADE 2026

Information for Retro Vehicle Drivers and the Public

Preparation & Driver Instructions

Please place a sign in your vehicle's window detailing vehicle make, model, and manufacturing year. If you have the opportunity to wear period-accurate attire matching your classic vehicle, that is an extra bonus!

📍 Gathering Location: Bantis Sports Field (Skräbbölevägen / Skräbbölentie 7, Pargas). Exhibition starts at 09:00.

🎟️ Participation: Completely free of charge. You will receive a route map and instructions at the entrance.

Morning Arrival Directions from Kaarina / St Karins

1. At the first roundabout after the Hessund bridge, turn left (3rd exit onto Kalkvägen / Kalkkitie).

2. After crossing the Kyrksundet bridge, go straight through the roundabout (2nd exit).

3. After about 100 metres, Bantis Sports Field is on your right.

*If the main field fills up, overflow parking is arranged along the street.

Vehicle Retro Parade at 13:30 (Route approx. 6 km)

The parade departs at 13:30. Leading the procession is Pargas Volunteer Fire Department's vintage 1934 Fordson fire truck. All participating vehicles follow in turn.

Parade Route:

• Drive from Skräbbölevägen via the roundabout onto Strandvägen at a leisurely speed.

• At the end of Strandvägen, continue via the next roundabout onto Archipelago Road (Saaristotie) toward Kaarina.

• At the Tokmanni roundabout, turn all the way around and head back along the same route.

• Drive once again through the town centre along Strandvägen past the cheering public and back to Bantis field.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Follow all traffic laws and marshals' instructions. Keep safe distance. Give pedestrians right-of-way at crossings. Allow turning traffic to clear the road. No wheel-spinning / tyre sliding!

🚽 Restrooms & Kiosk

• Nearest WC: Edge of Bantis field (portaloo) & inside Café Kajutan (Kalkhamnsvägen / Kalkkisatamantie 2).
• Additional restrooms: Matmalmen@Eva (Kauppiaskatu 4), NOX Wine & Deli (Kauppiaskatu 2), Restaurant Kamu (Skräbbölentie 2), Hotel Kalkstrand (Strandvägen 1).
• Kiosk selling sausages, soft drinks, water, coffee, buns, and club merchandise. Raffle tickets and fish pond game for children!

🏆 Souvenirs & Flea Market

• Antique Bronze Grille Badge: Commemorative badge to attach to your radiator grille or bumper.
• Retro Wall Calendar 2027: Featuring full-colour photographs of vintage vehicles.
• Flea Market / Swap Meet: Between Bantis field and Café Kajutan 09:00–15:00.

Afternoon & Evening Highlights (Night of Ancient Lights)

• All Day: Café Kajutan's new public sauna is hot and open. Food and drinks at Kajutan & Hunger & Törst.

• 15:00: Mini Egg Hunt organized by Muskelipaja for the whole family (meet at Hotel Kalkstrand, Strandvägen 1).

• 18:00: Live rock music by Gubbrockarna outside restaurant Hunger & Törst.

• 19:00: Buffalo Shakes perform live on Café Kajutan's harbour terrace.

• 21:00: Boat cavalcade from Norrby through Kyrksundet sound with saxophone tunes & the torchbearer.

• 21:45 & 22:00: Ancient fire bonfire lighting, guessing game, and grand fireworks show over the harbour. Celebrations continue late!
